Ms Kochetova is a photojournalist and filmmaker based in Kyiv whose work focuses on growing up in battle zones and post-traumatic stress disorder. The project compiles photographs with poetry, audio clips and music in collaboration with a Ukrainian illustrator and DJ to showcase the truth of life through the continuing war with Russia. Winner of the long-term project award is Venezuelan-born photographer Alejandro Cegarra with The Two Walls. The World Press Photo contest winners had been announced on Thursday morning, with this image of the battle in Gaza receiving a particular mention. The pictures chosen from this year’s contest shall be exhibited at Borough Yards in London between May 3 and 27.
