In all these rooms, the importance of furniture cannot be overemphasized. Furniture is usually made of wood in almost all countries across the world. This is due to the availability of wood as a product of making furniture.
Durability is one key feature of wooden products though they also require careful attention. Rotting is the main problem that could at times face wooden products. Rotting can be caused by moisture especially that from water which gets into contact with wooden furniture. Now that most furniture would in one way or the other be used for placing liquids, there is need for extra caution to be employed in handling them.
To ensure that furniture is well protected, many people use furniture protecting pads at times or all the time. Furniture protecting pads are pads that are placed or attached on furniture to protect it from different agents that could damage it. There are different materials used to make such pads and they come in different shapes and sizes. Clothing materials are usually used and are designed to protect specific pieces of furniture.

Most dinner tables usually have places as the main protection pads. Generally a place can be defined as a clothing material designed to protect dining tables from heat and moisture.
Most places are also strong enough to absorb excessive heat hence protecting the furniture from burns occasioned by heat. The material used to make places must therefore be strong. It is good to note that places cover only a portion of the dining table. Caution must therefore be exercised even by those who use places on dining tables.
