Such masters of the Fifties and Sixties as Aulenti, Castiglioni and Magistretti did a very good job indeed if we consider that during those years Italy became a crossroads for a new generation of creative minds on an international scale. It is only logical then that Italian designers excel in the area of furniture design and home furnishings. Most Italian interior designers today, whether fans of classic designs or of edgy chic, design living spaces with lots of light and air in mind. But the two that will really prompt designers and decorators to queue are Sandycombe Lodge and Sir John Soane’s home, both of which are currently being restored to their former glory. So, I started by reviewing their design questionnaire and following their advise to give them a sense of your desires for designing your dream space. Fashion Week has just wrapped up in New York City, with the new lines for Spring and Summer 2013 from both new and established designers being revealed. In the context of Corporate Identity Programmes the names of Designers and companies became more important.

My favourite is the pair of shoes designed like trellis, and the whimsical handbag that looks like a miniature version of the Petit Trianon summer house at Versailles. This beatiful example of design are the hi-tech bike used by Francesco Moser with disc-wheels and a bullhorn-bar. There are dresses imprinted with garden parties, skirts emblazoned with bold palm prints and bags made of pretty wicker. Irina Drogobetsky is the founder of IDI (Italian Design Interiors), a family owned furniture and interior design business in Boston. Some stripes took on a more artistic look, such as Marc Jacobs’ Warholian” stripes, reports, while other designers like DKNY and Diane von Furstenberg were a bit less edgy with their stripes.
